District Attorney’s office, Taos Police Department & Rocky Mountain Youth Corps Prevention Program Collab on Collection Site for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day in Taos on April 25
TAOS, NM – Do you have unused, old, or expired prescription medication taking up space in your medicine cabinet? Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 25!
The 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, the Taos Police Department, and the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps Prevention Program, are hosting a prescription recycling event on Saturday, April 25, in commemoration of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Residents are encouraged to stop by and dispose of their unused or expired medication.
“National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is an opportunity for locals to discard their unused or expired prescription medications responsibly. Acceptable items include non-narcotics, narcotics, over-the-counter medication, herbals, and veterinary medications. So, make sure to sort out your stash accordingly before showing up, because dropping off the right kind of meds is an easy way to ensure safety and cleanliness in our community,” stated 8th Judicial District Attorney Marcus Montoya.
The collection site is designed to be a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs. While unused or expired prescriptions will be accepted, the collection site will not take sharp objects, marijuana, liquids, or pressure canisters.
The Albertsons in Taos, located at 710A Paseo del Pueblo Sur, will serve as a collection site on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
